Joe Vander Horst was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan and has been a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo County. Joe joined Lewis, Reed & Allen, P.C. in 2019 and is a shareholder of the firm. Prior to joining Lewis, Reed & Allen, P.C., Joe spent 25 years in private practice. He opened and operated Vander Horst Law Office, P.C. for over 13 years. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Joe was a Vice President of family business, Chicken Coop Restaurants, where he managed over 140 employees. 

Joe specializes in all aspects of family law, including divorce, custody, parenting time and child support, business law, estate planning, probate and criminal law.

Joe is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Kalamazoo County Bar Association and Kalamazoo County Trial Lawyers.

Joe and his wife, Judy, have two children and three grandchildren. His son Jon is an associate attorney at Lewis, Reed & Allen, P.C. When not working, Joe enjoys spending time with his family and traveling to northern Michigan.
