OVERVIEW
Adam originally worked for the firm as a runner and assistant to the bookkeeper from 1999-2001, while he attended Western Michigan University. He has been a shareholder of the firm since 2025. Adam is a lifetime resident of West Michigan, as he was born in Hastings, Michigan and graduated from Western with a major in political science/pre-law. While at Western, he was an active member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and The Order of Omega leadership honor society. Upon graduating from Western in 2002, Adam attended Valparaiso University School of Law. During law school Adam was a member of the Mock Trial team, the International Legal Honor Society of Phi Delta Phi, and worked for the Cook County Illinois State’s Attorney’s Office.
Upon graduating from “Valpo”, he worked for Legal Aid of Southcentral Michigan in Battle Creek and within a year joined Verdonk, Verdonk & DiStefano as an associate attorney in Van Buren County, Michigan. Adam would eventually purchase the Verdonk Law Building in Bangor, Michigan where he ran a successful solo practice. While in Van Buren County Adam served the community as president of the Van Buren County Bar Association and a board member of the local branch of Habitat for Humanity. After owning and managing his own firm, Adam joined a Detroit-based law firm and later joined Willis Law, where he practiced law from 2020-2025 in Kalamazoo.
Adam primarily focuses his practice on Civil Litigation, Probate Litigation, Real Estate, and Family Law. Adam’s litigation experience is broad, and he recognizes the importance of every matter, whether it is an eviction, a multi-million-dollar dispute, or a delicate family relations matter. Through the years, Adam has practiced throughout the great state of Michigan, but has always focused on helping the individuals, families, and corporations that call West Michigan their home.
He is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan and in the Federal District Court for the Western District of Michigan. Adam is a volunteer with his son’s youth hockey program and is an ardent supporter of Western Michigan University athletics. Adam and his wife Kim have both served as board members for the board that is tasked with fundraising and raising awareness for the Western Michigan University College of Fine Arts.
